Il Quartetto di Clarinetti “Paul Harvey ‘99” si è costituito nel 1999 sotto la spinta dell’entusiasmo di quattro amici, diplomatisi tutti presso il Conservatorio “G. Verdi” di Milano.
Sceglie di intitolarsi al compositore inglese Paul Harvey per l’originalità e la vivacità della sua musica.Lo scopo che ha determinato la nascita del complesso è stato il desiderio di far conoscere e valorizzare uno strumento versatile e dalla voce quasi umana qual’è il clarinetto. Esso, oltre all’importanza attribuitagli nel repertorio classico e romantico dai maggiori compositori dell’epoca, ha assunto un ruolo di rilievo nelle colonne sonore dei film, e grazie tra gli altri a Benny Goodman, gode oggi di forte considerazione anche in campo jazzistico.
L’ensemble può vantare un repertorio vasto e adatto a diversi tipi di platee nonché un’invidiabile esperienza concertistica e didattica.
Singolarmente, i quattro componenti sono stati premiati in diversi concorsi Nazionali ed Internazionali e svolgono un’intensa attività concertistica con importanti enti sinfonico-orchestrali italiani.
Le esibizioni del gruppo sono sempre state caratterizzate da un notevole successo di pubblico: risultano particolarmente apprezzati l’affiatamento, la ricchezza inventiva del Quartetto e la novità della proposta musicale.
Il Quartetto si è aggiudicato il diploma d’onore al concorso T.I.M. per la sezione musica da camera e si è perfezionato con il Quatuor Issy-Paris.
A testimonianza della costante crescita musicale maturata negli ultimi anni, è giunto l’invito al “Meeting Internazionale per Quartetti di Clarinetti” tenutosi a Reggiolo (Reggio Emilia) nel 2006, dove si sono esibiti i Quartetti più importanti provenienti da tutta Europa, riscuotendo unanimi e favorevoli consensi.
Artistic Curriculum
Founded in 1999, “Paul Harvey ’99 Clarinet Quartet” was born by the enthusiastic initiative of four friends, all qualified at the “G. Verdi” Academy of Music of Milan.
The choice to entitle to English compositor Paul Harvey was brought about by the originality and liveliness of his music.The aim which gave birth to the Quartet was the aspiration to disclose and enhance a flexible and quite human voiced instrument as the clarinet is. It, beyond the relevance raised in classic and romantic repertory thanks to the main composers of the period, gains an outstanding role in film soundtracks. Moreover the clarinet enjoys nowadays great consideration even in jazz field, thanks above all to the share of Benny Goodman.
The ensemble proposes a wide repertory, able to suit different stalls, as well as an enviable concert and didactic experience.
All the four members received awards in many national and international shows and they are carrying out an intense concert activity cooperating with well-known symphonic-orchestral associations.
The exhibitions of the “Paul Harvey ’99 Clarinet Quartet” always raise great success among audience which appreciates their feeling, the richness and novelty of their musical proposals.
The Quartet gained the honour degree at the T.I.M. show for the section chamber music and reached a higher level cooperating with Quatuor Issy-Paris.
As evidence of the musical enhancement developed in these last years, the Quartet was invited to the “International Meeting for Clarinet Quartets” which took place in 2006 in Reggiolo (Reggio Emilia) and saw the exhibition of the outstanding European Quartets, who obtained unanimous and favourable consents.

Das Klarinetten-Quartett „Paul Harvey '99“ wurde im Jahre 1999 von vier Klarinettisten gegründet, welche zusammen das Klarinetten -Diplom am staatlichen Konservatorium „Giuseppe Verdi“ in Mailand erlangt haben.
Die Musiker haben das Quartett, wegen der Originalität und dem Wesen der Musik von dem englischen Komponisten „Paul Harvey“, nach Ihm benannt. Das Ensemble verfolgt den Zweck mit der Klarinette, einem wendigem Instrument, mit einer beinahe menschlichen Stimme, ein breites Publikum zu erreichen. Unser Wunsch ist es, dass die Klarinette dadurch bei unserem geschätzten Publikum, mehr Anerkennung erlangen könnte.Die vier Musiker wurden einzeln an diversen nationalen und internationalen Wettbewerben ausgezeichnet und spielen mit verschiedenen bedeutenden italienischen Symphonieorchestern.
Dank des Zusammenspielens, den Erfindungsreichtum, die Neuigkeit und die Vielfalt des Quartetts der vorgeschlagenen Konzertprogramme sind die Auftritte des Ensembles immer ein bemerkenswerter Publikumserfolg.
Sehr aktiv ist das Quartett in Italien und in der Schweiz, es hat schon in Thusis, Chur, Val Müstair, Filzbach-Walensee, Bergell, Klosters, Parpan, St. Moritz (Palace Hotel), Andeer, im Tessin und auf der Lenzerheide Konzerte abgehalten.
Dem Ensemble wurde das Ehrendiplom am Wettbewerb T.I.M in der Kategorie Kammermusik zugesprochen und es hat sich mit dem Quatuor Issy-Paris perfektioniert.
Zur Bestätigung für die in den letzten Jahren erreichte musikalische Entwicklungen, bekam das Quartett vom „Meeting Internazionale per Quartetti di Clarinetti“ eine einstimmige, positive und befürwortende Kritik. Diese Auszeichnung erhielten Sie im Jahre 2006 in Reggiolo (Reggio Emilia) in dem die wichtigsten europäischen Quartette auftraten.
